I'm very excited to introduce some new additions into my breeding program, provided to me by none other than Melly Dehaven of Evolution Rattery in Charleston, SC. These rats are gorgeous and I'm confident that integrating them into my breeding program will have amazing benefits for not only the appearance of my lines, but their health and overall longevity.
This also brings a couple of new varieties into my rattery, including Harley, UK Roan, and Pearl. Harley is something I've wanted for awhile now, but could never locate any that were within distance OR had good temperaments. Mellys Harley have me obsessed with the softness of their coat and that beautiful sheen every time they move - I will be adding this into a Black self/Siamese line and potentially some others. I will be attempting to make Cinnamon Pearl with the pearl boy I've been provided by crossing him to my next generation of silvermanes. I am also hoping that this outcross will strengthen the health/longevity of my Agouti based silvermane line.
In the near future, I hope to have a line of rats shipped down which I believe will be extremely beneficial to my rattery as a whole, but as it stands the females we are waiting to be pregnant are not cooperating.
While I incorporate these new rats into the rest of my lines, my adoption hiatus will continue until I am satisfied that the improvements I am hoping for have been achieved. Male babies may be offered to previous adopters on a case by case basis. I will still continue to work with other breeders. That said, Martricella WILL need to be bred once she is out of quarantine and so I will likely have a litter from her prior to February. This will likely be an EVO x EVO pairing.
