Banba was born in my Rattery on March 16th 2017, from a Silvermane to Silvermane pairing. She was the only girl in the entire litter and, incidentally, the only non-silvermane.
She was always a string-bean of a girl, but also a very good momma and sweet lady to have around. After her litter had been weaned, I decided to find her a pet-only home.
I was contacted by her hooman and told that Banba passed away without warning, while her hooman was at work. There no noticeable changes in behavior, weight loss, or typical signs of an illness leading up to that point. The morning had proceeded as usual with Banba running off with her treat to her favorite spot.
I cannot say for certain what happened, but I urge anyone who has gotten silvermanes from me, or rats related to my silvermanes, to please keep an extra close eye on their babies and alert me immediately if they should notice any changes or usual behaviors.
